HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY

Hi Everyone

I haven't blogged in a while but I couldn't miss these celebrations.

Scrapbook Divas has been in business for 10 years. I can't believe it has been 10 years. It indeed has been a journey with lots of ups and downs and lots of changes in the industry since I started.

I would firstly like to thank my family and especially my sister Bronwyn who have supported me these last 10 Years and to my friends who have stuck by me as well. To the life long friends that I have made along the way.

To celebrate this milestone I am going to be having 10 challenges for 10 days.  So I will post a challenge per day commencing Friday 3rd April on the blog and Facebook. Every challenge you complete you will gain an entry into the prize draw to be drawn at the end of the 10 days. So the more entries you have the more chances of winning. The prize will be revealed on Friday.

There will also be 30% of most products in the online store for the whole of April so don't forget to check that out at www.scrapbookdivas.com.au

Creating with Teresa Collins

Hi, It's Tina Connolly, with a little something to share.
Here's a layout I did using papers from the Teresa Collins Fabrications range.  I used Green Diamond for the base, accented with Red Flowers, and Ornate Brackets as the inner background.  It's quite a simple layout, but I love the rich detail in this range, which makes a striking combination.
These papers are discounted only $0.70 per sheet at the moment so grab a bargain while you can!

Just sharing....

 Hi ,
It's Tina Connolly here and I wanted to share my latest favorite layout using Basic Grey "Paper Cottage" papers from Scrapbook Diva's.  I used "Porch Swing"for the base, "Clothesline" for my next layer and photo mat, and "Brunch" as my third layer.  I punched around all my layers using Martha Stewart punches.  I fussy cut a few doiley shapes from the reverse of the "Clothesline"paper.

The gorgeous chippy is by Twiddleybitz.  I painted it with Dylusions Ink Sprays and then applied Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Rock Candy.  This was the first time I'd tried Dylusionals, and I loved the intensity of colour.  You can spray/spritz it, or take off the mister and paint with it (less wastage that way).  It doesn't have any shimmer but the colours are fabulous.

Here's a fun layout I did using a Crafter's Workshop template. I masked a rectangle using old scrap paper, then I applied Derivan Gel Medium with an old credit card, allowed it to dry then spritzed with  mists.  Michelle has lots of lovely Glimmermist in the store here.

I used Sawyers Place Washi tape and Authentique "Lively" paper and stickers

Thanks for looking!
Happy scrapping,
Tina

Do you love Authentique?

My layout uses Authentic Lively "Chipper" as the base,  both sides of Vivacious, with a strip of  Vibrant cut along the chevron shape.

I created a feather from old bookpaper, and embellished it with Prima flowers

I added an  Authentique Detail Sticker and journalled the few details that I know about this photo.

Happy scrapping,
Tina

Playing with Mediums!

Hey, it's me (Tina Connolly) again with a tutorial for you.  I promised I'd showcase how I use my Derivan Gel Medium.
Here's my finished layout...

I used a double masking technique on this layout, first making a triangle shape with some scrap paper, then applying the Gel Medium with an old credit card through a template.  I also used some texture paste to give a different textural finish, but you could use Derivan Impasto or Derivan Gesso in the same manner.

Spray a variety of mists over your page (I still left my triangle masks on at this stage).  Michelle has a great range of Glimmer Mist available here.
Attach triangles of paper and then trim any excess that is overlapping the edge of your base sheet.

Tim Holtz Distress Inks stay wet longer and blend beautifully.  I use either a dauber (as pictured) or a makeup sponge.
I highlighted the raised edges of the texture paste with some ink.

 I even did my journalling!

Look at all that gorgeous shimmer.

Hope you've enjoyed this tutorial.  Now get out there and have a play with some Mediums!
Happy scrapping,
Tina

Have you tried Gel Medium??

Hi, it's Tina Connolly with another layout using Basic Grey "Paper Cottage" papers, buttons, element stickers, felt stickers and trim, and alpha stickers.

I used Derivan Gel Medium over a Crafter's Workshop template and then rubbed some Perfect Pearls across  it once it had almost dried.  Gel Medium is one of my favorite products and I'll be showcasing it in a couple of layouts over the next few weeks.

Happy scrapping,
Tina

Pinwheels are fun!

Hi, it's Tina Connolly with my layout using the Basic Grey 'Paper Cottage' range.  I used "Afgan" for the base, with strips of "Vegetable Garden" and "Domestic", which I also used for the pinwheels and bunting.  You can find the buttons here, "Felt stickers and Trim" here, and Washi Tape here.

Have you ever made a pinwheel?  They are very easy and fun to make.ust  Just cut a square, snip from each corner towards the centre, bend the right hand side of that corner to the centre, and repeat with the other corners.  Secure with a brad.  Too easy!
Thanks for looking, hope I've inspired you to go create something.
Hugs,
Tina
